Hormone

A substance produced by a ductless or endoctrine gland (the testes and ovaries among others), which directly enters the blood stream and exerts an influence over the other glands and organs.

Estrogen: A group of steroid sex hormones commonly referred to as female sex hormones although they are produced naturally by both sexes.
