Ernst Grafenberg was a German obstetrician and gynecologist.
In 1930, Grafenberg invented the Grafenberg ring, a coil of silver wire, which was the first modern intrauterine contraceptive devices.
The modern discovery of a finding originally reported by Regnier de Graaf is the basis for renaming this region the Grafenberg spot (or g-spot).
